These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of games, websites, and services provided by Molten Alien Technologies Ltd., a company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (DIFC) ("Molten Alien", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

  • What is this? Molten Alien makes multiplayer card games you can play online with others.
  • Key rules: Be respectful to other players. No cheating, harassment, or illegal activity.
  • If you see something wrong: You can report illegal or harmful content by emailing support@moltenalien.com.
  • If we remove your content: We will tell you why and you can appeal the decision for free within 6 months.
  • Your purchases: Virtual items are licensed to you, not sold. If you leave, you lose access to them.
  • Want to leave? You can delete your account at any time through the app or by emailing support@moltenalien.com. It is just as easy as signing up.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, downloading our games, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use our services. By using our services, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

4. Acceptable Use

When using our services, you agree NOT to:

  • Cheat, exploit bugs, or use unauthorized third-party software
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other players
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Use our services for any illegal purpose
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble our software
  • Sell, trade, or transfer your account to another person

We apply these restrictions in a diligent, objective, and proportionate manner, with due regard to your fundamental rights, including freedom of expression and information. We consider the severity, intent, and context of any violation before taking action.

5. Reporting Illegal Content (Notice-and-Action)

If you believe any content on our platform — including chat messages, custom emotes, profile images, or usernames — is illegal under the laws of a European Union member state, you may report it to us. You do not need a Molten Alien account to submit a report.

To submit a notice, email support@moltenalien.com with the following information:

  • Your name and email address
  • A description or screenshot of the content you are reporting
  • The location of the content (e.g., the username, game room, or context where you saw it)
  • An explanation of why you believe the content is illegal

Upon receiving your notice, we will:

  • Acknowledge receipt of your report
  • Review the reported content in a timely, diligent, and non-arbitrary manner
  • Inform you of our decision and the reasons behind it

Notices submitted by trusted flaggers designated by EU member state authorities are processed with priority. We may suspend the processing of notices from individuals who frequently submit manifestly unfounded reports.

6. Statement of Reasons

Whenever we take action that affects your content or account — including removing or restricting content, issuing warnings, or suspending or terminating your account — we will provide you with a clear statement explaining:

  • The facts and circumstances on which the decision was based
  • The specific clause in these Terms or the legal ground that was applied
  • Whether the decision was made or assisted by automated tools
  • Your options for redress, including how to file an internal complaint, access out-of-court dispute settlement, and seek judicial redress

7. Complaints & Appeals

If you disagree with a content moderation decision we have made regarding your content or account, you have the right to complain. Our internal complaint-handling system works as follows:

  • How to complain: Send your complaint electronically by emailing support@moltenalien.com. There is no fee.
  • Time limit: You may submit a complaint within 6 months of the decision you are contesting.
  • Human review: Your complaint will be reviewed by a qualified person, not resolved solely by automated means.
  • Possible outcomes: We may reverse our original decision, uphold it, or partially modify it. We will inform you of the outcome without undue delay.

If you are not satisfied with the outcome of your complaint, you may:

  • Refer the matter to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body in the European Union
  • Seek judicial redress before the competent courts of your EU member state of residence

8. Virtual Items & Currency

Our games may include virtual currency (coins, gems) and virtual items. These are licensed to you, not sold. You acknowledge that:

  • Virtual items have no real-world monetary value
  • We may modify or remove virtual items at any time
  • Virtual items cannot be transferred or exchanged outside our platform
  • Refunds for virtual item purchases are handled according to the applicable app store policies

9. Intellectual Property

All content in our games and website — including but not limited to graphics, code, text, audio, and game mechanics — is owned by Molten Alien Technologies Ltd. and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

10. User Content

If you submit any content through our services (such as usernames, chat messages, or feedback), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with our services.

11. Content Moderation

We moderate user-generated content on our platform to maintain a safe and respectful environment. The following types of content are subject to moderation:

  • In-game chat messages
  • Custom emotes uploaded by users
  • Profile avatars and images
  • Usernames and display names

How Moderation Works

Our moderation process follows these steps:

  • Automated screening: AI and automated systems scan content for potential violations of our policies, including inappropriate, abusive, or harmful material.
  • Human review: Content flagged by automated tools or reported by users is escalated to human moderators for review when the situation requires a nuanced judgment.
  • Action: If content violates our policies or applicable law, we may take one or more of the following actions: issue a warning, remove or disable access to the content, temporarily suspend your account, or permanently ban your account.
  • Response time: We aim to review all in-app reports of objectionable user-generated content within 24 hours of submission. Confirmed violations are removed and offending users are ejected from the service in line with the actions listed above.
  • Notification: You will be informed of any action taken and the reasons for it (see Statement of Reasons above).

AI Players

Our games may include AI-controlled players (bots) to fill open seats, provide practice opponents, or ensure a complete game experience. AI players are identified as such within the game.

12. Rankings & Matchmaking

Our platform uses algorithmic systems to rank players and match them into games. Here is how these systems work:

  • Leaderboard rankings are determined by gameplay performance metrics, primarily experience points (XP), win rate, and number of games completed.
  • Matchmaking pairs players based on skill level, geographic region, and player availability to create balanced and timely games.

These systems use only gameplay data. We do not use personal profiling beyond gameplay performance for ranking or matchmaking purposes. You can influence your ranking by playing more games and improving your gameplay performance.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in behavior that is harmful to other users or our services. Before taking action, we consider the severity, frequency, and intent of the violation.

Account deletion: You may delete your account at any time through the in-app settings or by emailing support@moltenalien.com. Deleting your account is no more difficult than creating one. Upon deletion, your personal data (profile, chat history, custom emotes) will be removed within 3 days. Gameplay statistics are retained.

Effect on purchases: Upon account termination or deletion, access to virtual items and currency associated with your account is forfeited. Refunds for purchases made through app stores are handled according to the applicable app store's refund policies.

14. Disclaimers

Our services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Molten Alien Technologies Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by:

  • In-app notification within our games
  • Email to your registered email address (if you have one)

Significant changes will take effect 30 days after we notify you, giving you time to review them. If you disagree with the changes, you may terminate your account before they take effect. Continued use of our services after the 30-day notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the applicable laws of the DIFC in which Molten Alien Technologies Ltd. is registered. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Dubai, UAE.

For users in the European Union: If you are a consumer in the European Union, nothing in these Terms affects your mandatory rights under EU consumer protection laws, including the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Any disputes may also be brought before the competent courts of your EU member state of residence.

18. Reporting Criminal Threats

If we become aware of any information on our platform that gives rise to a suspicion of a criminal offence involving a threat to the life or safety of a person, we will promptly inform the law enforcement or judicial authorities of the relevant EU member state and provide all available relevant information.

EU Legal Representative (Article 13 DSA)

Molten Alien Technologies Ltd. is in the process of designating a legal representative in an EU member state for the purposes of the Digital Services Act. Until a representative is formally appointed, EU authorities and users may direct any DSA-related communications to eu-dsa@moltenalien.com.
